Surviving Mercury Retrograde

Surviving Mercury Retrograde

September 05, 2018

Have you been finding it difficult to clearly communicate your thoughts and feelings to your loved ones, lately?

It’s probably no surprise to you that Mercury (and most of the other planets for that matter) have been in retrograde for the better part of the Summer; raining down all this weirdness on your life. There isn’t much of a survival guide for such astrological phenomenons, but we felt it necessary to ask some of our favorite gypsies how they’re surviving while the spatial forces are trying to throw a wrench in their gears. Here’s what some of them had to say!

@georgiebriand

I guess I've been surviving the retrogrades by surrounding myself with friends nonstop. I've been doing things I love, working on creative projects, and hanging out with great people who keep me grounded. A key practice for me in everyday life, but especially during crazy times, is to always keep things in perspective. So if I'm having a bad day or freaking out about something that’s probably not as big of a deal as I've made it out to be I always step back and realize that whatever the issue may be it's only temporary and instead I focus my time more on all the other great things I have going on in my life.

@Indaheart

I’ve been doing a lot of meditations lately to help me stay calm and stress free and i’ve been using this app called “Headspace” to help motivate me. They send you motivational quotes throughout the day and remind you to breathe and relax. I think that’s one of the thing that help me through Retrograde season.

@Chloetraichel

This summer’s retrograde was a tough one. Along with 3 eclipses we also had 7 planets in retrograde, including Mercury. To stay sane, I make sure I keep myself surrounded by good friends that I can talk to about whatever is on my mind. Another therapeutic way of releasing stress for me is to run with a really good playlist and sweat a little. Lastly on the spiritual side of things, I burned two special candles simultaneously during the beginning of Mercury retrograde and the full moon total lunar eclipse in July. These we’re meant to remove obstacles and bring things to the surface.

Focusing strongly on yourself and self-growth. Stop changing your schedule to fit in people who may not be helping you be the best version of yourself, or may be toxic to you. Meditate, and start a journal, if you don’t already have one, as writing is always a good idea :) Try to clean up your diet and just count at least 5 positive things in your life every morning before you get out of bed :)
